LGBT+: A First for Spain, A First for the Costa del Sol

The first LGBT+ AA meeting took place on 14 August 2020 in Torremolinos; a town that celebrates gay pride for a week every year attracting over thirty five thousands visitors.

It was the initiative of Claire supported by Raymond (CER Costa Del Sol representative) and many others from the Fellowship.

The meeting is listed as LGBT+ and is a new meeting for new people, while emphasising that it is inclusive to everyone. Initially there were some concerns that a Catholic church might have reservations with having our meeting on their premises. However, the priest insisted that everyone was welcome regardless of their gender identity.

The meeting takes place every Friday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and full details can be found on the meeting listings.

It is another amazing achievement in the history of Alcoholics Anonymous.

With the addition of this meeting the church now hosts three English speaking AA meetings per week.
